2. Operation and the first day

I arrived at the clinic at 8am and was welcomed by BrittMarie, who also was and is the nurse who explained everything during our first consultation and who I could/can contact in case I have any problems or questions. She escorted me to a three-bed room and asked me to take off all of my clothes (all but my panties) and change into slippers and a bath robe. Here a "time line":

8am: arrival, change of clothes, filling out a paper about pre-conditions, etc. BrittMarie told me that I would have to meet and talk to Dr. Letterfors and Björn, the anesthetist. Another nurse entered the room and gave me some pills I had to take right away. What she didn't know was that I hadn't met my surgeon by then. So BrittMarie came in, saw the empty vessel and kind of freaked out, haha.

9am: I finally met my surgeon, Dr. Ivan Letterfors, a white-haired, tanned, smiling man who found it pretty funny that I was high due to the "to-early-pills" incident. We talked about different sizes. From the start I wanted to have 350cc (about 300gr) but he recommended 375cc (400gr) and I agreed to go with that. He doodled on my chest and followed me back to my room.

Some facts about me:

Length: 163cm
Weight: 57kg
Cup-size: A (C after surgery)
Implant: 375cc, behind muscle
Sort: "Hallongelé", round, silicon, rough surface, moderate profile, firmness (Swedish: kohesivitet) 1 - pretty soft

I didn't want to have big boobs because I don't want that kind of attention. I just wanna be able to wear any bikini and a top without having to wear a push-up bra. And believe it or not: boobs make you feel more like a woman, haha.

12am: Finally! There was another girl who head breast surgery before me and she seemed to feel fine but she had gone through that a year ago and just wanted to have bigger breast this time. So I had to lie down, breath in some gas and I was gone. And suddenly Anders told me that everything had gone well and that he'd role me back to my room and bed. Anders was another anesthetic assistant and the "night nurse". It really hurt but not as long as I could lie down.

Rest of the day and night: Getting up was the hardest. Hard to describe the pain, it's like having the worst muscle soreness ever! But Anders and my neighbor Ulrika helped me up and down. I couldn't really eat much that day and I made the poor mistake not to get up and move, because when I wanted to brush my teeth I got up, walked around, got everything fixed and sat down on my bed. And then I threw up the little food and water I had consumed. But afterwards I felt fine, ate and drank something and walked around even more. Ulrika showed me how to stretch my muscles without hurting myself and it really helped. At night I forgot to take my meds and couldn't get up without help but what I can recommend is to drink as much water as possible. It really helps to get you going.

The next morning I woke up at 6am and had some breakfast and took a shower. Anders gave me my recipes for my meds and showed me hoe to massage my breasts. There were really stiff, hard and firm and the implant were really high up but he told me that it was quiet normal and by massaging them I would help to avoid capsular contracture.

I took the train home to a friend and now I'm sitting here, writing and getting tired. The meds make me kind of high and really tired. Me breasts feel fine, firm and a bit sore but it's ok. Can't really lift up my arms and am not allowed to lift or carry heavy things. I have to wear a soft bra without "bails" (or are they called frames? Well, German: Bügel, Swedish: bygel), sports bra or just a tight tank top which is really nice compared to those clinics that make you wear a so called "torture"-bra. Otherwise I just have to follow these rules:

- shower, no bathing until the stitches have been removed
- take meds
- massage three times a day
- no working out the first week, only going for a walk
- stretching
- wearing a soft bra or tight tank top that supports your breasts
- sleep a lot and drink a lot of water
- no nicotine, alkohol for at least two weeks
